Syed Pir Sakhi Hashim Shah, Matiari

Hazrat Syed Sakhi Hashim Shah, one of the greatest religious figures of Matiari town was horn on 12th Rabiul Awal, 1057 Hijri in the present Pirzada Mohalla of the town. He was the great grandson of Hazrat Sakhi Ruknuddin Shah. His father Syed Adam Shah had five sons namely: Syed Jan Muhammad Shah, Syed Inayat Shah, Hazrat Sakhi Hashim Shah, Syed Fateh Khan Shah and Syed Pir Muhammad Hussain Shah alias Syed Sikandar Shah. His illustrated mother was also a pious lady and was popular as Qalandar Bibi (daughter of Syed Pir Rabdino Shah).

Hazrat Sakhi Hashim Shah was married on 26th Rabius Sani, 1079 Hijri. His Nikah was performed at Masjid Rabbi. He had two sons: Syed Pir Allahyar Shah and Syed Boola Shah. His father Syed Adam Shah died on 3rd Rabius Sani, 1090 Hijri.

It is said that greatest sufi saint and poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai spent some of his infancy days in the company of Hazrat Sakhi Hashim Shah. It is also said that his father Sved Habib Shah was the resident of Matiari and was the regular visitor of Syed Adam Shah. It is further claimed that Hazrat Shah Abdul Karim Bulrri Waro was also born in Matiari on 20th Shaban, 944 Hijri.

The mausoleum of Sakhi Hashim houses the graves of his sons Syed Boola Shah (who died on 13th Rabius Sani, 1122.
