The site of Malhin-Jo-Daro is located at a distance of about 10 kms north east of Seerani, in village Gul Muhammad Chang. The site Malhin-Jo-Daro is famous as Darrai Chang because of the Chang Community living around the site.
It is a very large site, divided into three parts, mound-01 (South), Mound-02 (North) and Mound-03 (North-east).
The measurements of mound-01 (southern) are 249 meters in length, 165 meters in breath and about 8 meters high from the surrounding cultivated area, its elevation above sea level is 45 ft. Mound-02 (Northern) is located at a distance of about 50 meters north of mound-01, its measurements are 94 meters in length, 56 meters in breath and about 6 ft. height from the surrounding surface and Mound-03 (north-east) is located at a distance of about 505 meters north-east of mound-01, its measurements are 113 meters in length, 56 meters in breath and 3 ft. high from the surface level.
Cultural material comprises of plain and painted pottery, glazed pottery, terracotta grinder for separating husk, terracotta humble bubble, shell objects and shell bangles. Painted black on red ware with wide broad neck with painting in black in various designs is commonly found in the sites of Islamic period along with glazed pottery. These Badin sites are between 12th to 18th centuries AD. It clearly belonged to the Islamic period.
The surface of the mound-01 had remains of burnt bricks well and brick bats, mud bricks structural evidences and western side of the mound is mostly covered with hearths and ashy surface. Mound-02 had cultural material sparsely scattered on the mound and there was presence of a recent graveyard, whereas the surface of Mound-03 also had sparse cultural material on it, which was mostly damaged by natural and human vagaries and animal movements and grazing on the site.
