Makhdoom Ghulam Hyder High School, Matiari


Makhdoom Ghulam Hvder High School on Dargah Road Hala, is a monumental work carried out by the Makhdoom family of Hala, during the pre-partition days, in order to spread the light of education in the area.

The school had its own hoarding house, named as "Khan Bahadur Syed Hassan Ali Shah Hostel".The 12-room hostel was inaugurated by Pir Illahi Bakhsh, then Minister Education, Sindh, on 28'h February, 1944.

The hostel was constructed with the donations given by the influential zamindars of Sindh. The rooms of the hostel bear the name of donors and the year of construction, which is as follows:

Raees Ghulam Muhammad Khan Khatian, 1947.

A poor mureed of Dargah (name not mentioned), 1947.

Makhdoom Amin Muhammad Khan Qureshi Siddiqui, 1947.

Similarly, the class rooms of the school were also constructed through public donations. The school building was also inaugurated by Pir Illahi Bakhsh, the Minister Education, on 5 January, 1942. The list of the donors, who contributed towards the development of this institution as mentioned on the top of the class rooms is as follows:

Muhammad Sadiq Ali Junejo, 1944.

Nawab Jam Kamboo Khan, 1944.

An old mosque of the same period in the school campus still exists. Behind this, another Government High School, named as Makhdoom Muhammad Zaman Talibul Mola was established some time in 1970s. The school was built with the assidous efforts of Makhdoom SohibTalibul Mola.
