Tomb of Sakhi Hyder Ali Shah, Matiari


The tomb of Hazrat Syed Hyder Ali Shah is situated in Matiari city, Taluka Matiari, District Matiari. It is located near Memon Colony at about 0.3 km from Matiari Bypass. It is a domed structure and belongs to Hazrat Syed Hyder Ali Shah son of Zaman Shah, who was born on 11th Rabi-us-Sani, 1132 H.

He was great saint of his times. He belonged to Awaisi school of thought and Syedena Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) was his murshid. He had one son and a daughter. He was the 8thSajjadaNasheen of Sakhi Rukunddin Shah. He died on14th Jamaduil Awal, 1215 H at the age of 83.

Tomb architecture resembles with Kalhora period Architecture. Inside the tomb of Hazrat Syed Hyder Ali Shah there are 12 graves in which 05 small graves belong to children.

The structure square in shape and the covered Area of the tomb is 27'-00" x 27'-5" (740.232 Sft). The tomb is built with burnt bricks and mud plaster. It has sixteen sided polygon drum and provincial style dome was built on it and plastered with chiroli & lime mortar. Platform in front of the tomb Structure is built with marble and burnt bricks with cement mortar.

Different architectural features and multi-foil arches are found on the entire Structure including exterior and interior sides, Tudor arch is used in mehrab and on main entrance; small finial is fixed on the dome.
