Municipality office building is located at ending point of Empire Road which has been erected on 1st May 1855 as first official building of Deputy Collector Larkana. Mr. Tupper was selected as first president of Larkana Municipality office in 1900 A.D, who was also first Deputy Collector of this district. The word "municipal" is taken from Latin word "Muniscipium" which means city. First election of this office was conducted in 1918 in which Sirae Shah Muhammed Lahori elected as first democratic (Muslim as well) President of Municipality office but after 5 month he was died and Vernacular School of Larkana was replaced as Shah Mohammed vernacular School. After his death Nawab Haji Amir Ali Lahori has been selected president of this office. For the period of that era the huge ground of this office has been served as harbor of Ghar wah where all types and sizes of boats has been ported and deported along with baggage, luggage and belongings.
