Collectorate Building, Larkana

A monumental and modish structure situated at VIP Road which was built in year 1902 during British era. Exterior of the building has possibly been taken from the external glance of Taj Mahal of Agra. It has been used as Deputy Collector's office before devolution of the District and after that it is serving as office of E.D.O. Revenue Larkana. There has also been division of Indian Imperial Bank in a portion of this house which winded up in 1949 and in same year in same portion first branch of National Bank was established.

Larkana Gazetteer of Sindh province introduced this building as "This has been used as Collector's Kacheri built in what might be described as the quasi-oriental style, since with its two domes at either end it suggest at first sight a mosque. The idea is dispelled when one looks at the central portion of the building, which has a double storey. The Collector's entire establishment and the treasury are accommodated on the ground floor, the record rooms are upstairs and the north end of the building is a large Darbar hall. Later on it has been used as a District Court, pending such time as the Court House is built on the other side of compound facing the Kacheri. The cost of the building was Rs. 1,28,845."
