Akra Pull Fort , Khairpur

One of the imperial era forts built near Akra Pull near historic Graveyard of Radhan Mashaikh (some 30 kilometers off in the east of Kot Laloo), is no more existing, except the traces of the old structure. The fort was presumably inaugurated in 1944 on the pattern of other forts in the whole area, to contain then Hur uprising. Unlike other monuments of contemporary era, the fort remained unutilized since the departure of the 'gora' rulers, temping the local people to initially uproot its wooden fixtures and then the whole architectural structure was targeted, consequently with in a brief time, once the highly protected and mighty fort was completely destroyed and its precious debris was taken away by the thieves. It was spreading over an area of two acres. The strategic significance of this fort lies in its location of being in the heart of desert.
