Mian Jan Muhammad Abbasi, Khairpur

Mian Jan Muhammad Abbasi, son of Mian Ali khan Abbasi (1882-1922) was the resident of Borirri (then Taluka Kakarr, District Dadu), was a school teacher. He taught Mr. G.M Syed at his village. He served in the capacity at different places including Karachi. He was also a poet and he used "Fida" as his poetic name. He wrote two books entitled as: "Diwan-e-Fida" and "Behasi Masaila Tanasikh" (Janab Guzarium Jin Seen by Mr. G.M Syed). His tomb is situated on the left bank of river Indus, some 10 Kms off Dargah Nanak Yousuf in Agrra. This was built by Mian Dost Ali Khan Abbasi. Two masons from Lahore named Laiq and Jurrio constructed this tomb (as suggested by an inscription on the interior wall of the tomb). The tomb houses as many as four graves including Mian Jan Muhammad himself and his three sons: Mian Mahar Ali, Dost Ali and Rehan Ali, the inscriptions on the interior wall of the tomb indicates that Mian Jan Muhammad Abbasi was the resident of village Mian Naseer Muhammad, Taluka Kakarr. A single domed mosque of same period is also associated with the tomb.

At a close distance to the tomb lies a grand old Haveli consisting of 4 rooms, which was built by Mian Dost Ali Abbasi son of Mian Jan Muhammad Abbasi. The haveli is no more in use and the local villagers use it as grain storage etc.
