This mosque is situated near the "War Mubarak" (the sacred hair of beard of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad, PBUH). Built in 1583 AD by Fateh Khan, an officer of the Mughal Emperor Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar, the Jamia Masjid is a heavy three-domed structure of red brick. Due to negligence, the entire ancient architectural outlook of the monument has been adversely affected, following the repair and renovation activities carried out privately or through government fund. The ancient tile work has been replaced with the fancy one. Excessive use of cement in the renovation has doubled the risk of damage to the ancient structure.
It is pertinent to point out here that the architecture of this mosque greatly resemble with one at Ghouspur in district Kashmore Kandhkot. Which also belong to same period. Both the mosques are heavy structures standing on thick wall.
