Faqeer Waheeduudin Cotton Factory, near Railway Rtation Gambat, was established in 1952. This was built by Faqeer Waheeduudin from Lahore. Following the success of Faqeer Cotton Factory, the owner established a chain of factories in the area which included, ginning, oil and ice factories, etc. and the entire area was converted into an industrial zone. The employees were provided a living accommodation in the nearby area, called Faqeerabad. Presently whole the industrial activity has come to a standstill and the industrial units have become sick.
