Shahi Mahal or Sheesh Mahal in Kot Diji is nowadays a prohibited area for photo journalists due to the reasons best known to its owners, who happened to be the former ruling family. The restriction imposed on the visiting journalists, writers and researchers has caused lot of embarrassment for the visiting scholars. Until recently, Sheesh Mahal or Shahi Mahal, which is barrier less and without a proper compound wall was opened for all. However, in the wake of electronic media's boom the premises of Sheesh Mahal began to be exploited, where the shooting of various dramas and songs became the daily affair. We managed entry into the brilliant palace after a hectic negtiations with the ruling family and returned successful with photo and videographic shoots.

In order to keep check on the movement in and around the Sheesh Mahal, which is certainly undergoing its deplorable days due to lack of required repairs and renovation, the former ruling family has deployed a craft. They spent lot of their fortune in creating eye popping art works within their domain.

Shahi Mahal or Sheesh Mahal with arched windows can be rated as one of the architectural master pieces built by heart.
