Pirs of Duhoon, Khairpur

Faqir Syed Muhammad Shah was the founder of the Naqvi Pir ancestry of Duhoon adjacent to Babarloyee. Originally, he belonged to Multan from where he traveled to Sehwan during the later part of Kalhora dynasty. After spending his early days at the Dargah of Qalandar Shahbaz, he moved to a village near Madeji and later on permanently shifted to a village Mian Khan in Khairpur State. He died there and was buried in the graveyard of Shaikh Tayyab in Kolab Jeal. During this whole journey, his son Mottan Shah also accompanied him. Syed Mottam Shah avoiding public pressure of meeting their superstitious demands, he disguised himself as Aherri instead of calling himself Syed. But his saintly influence was enough to easily let the people know about his actual caste and origin. He later on shifted to village Miranpur/Mirpur or Babarloyee and stayed there permanently. It is said once a man carrying a y-shaped wooden stick, attacked him. He snatched the wooden stick from the attacker and threw in the nearby burning fire. The wood instead of burning into ashes became green and a berry tree grew immediately. The same berry tree still exist in the premises of Dargah and people claimed that it has never been watered instead it thrives on a burning ash, which permanently lie around its bottom.

Mottan Shah was succeeded by his elder son Ibrahim Shah. He had four sons named: Maher Ali Shah, Pir Shah, Maqsood Ali Shah and Mureed Hyder Ali Shah. After his demise his youngest son Hyder Ali Shah became the Gadi Nasheen.
