This is one of the main railway stations of the districts of the district, connecting the town and its suburbs with the whole country. It is a main source of travel and transportation of goods from here to else where in the country. It is one of the main railway stations of the country, during the time when railway networking was being laid down by the britishers, the then ruling elite of Khairpur State, disallowed to spread the network across its jurisdiction. However, later on the succeeding ruler allowed the networking of the rail road to be spread across the state.
