Naz Pilot Secondary School , Khairpur

The foundation stone of this permanent academic center was laid by His Highness Mir Ali Murad Khan Talpur, the last ruler of defunct Khairpur state on 24th November 1953. Initially it was opened in 1906 as Anglo Vernacular School which was upgraded to the status of High School way back in 1915. in 1923 it was renamed as Naz High school after His Highness Mir Ali Nawaz Khan Naz, then ruler of the state. in 1960 its status was further revised and raised to the status of pilot school. The school's premises spread over 46 acres of land gifted by the ruler of Khairpur state for the cause of promotion of education in the area. However, with the passage of time the involvement of vested interests grew, consequently most of the land of this institution has been illegally encroached upon by the unauthorized occupants. Poor maintenance of this huge building is again a great set back to this popular institution. This institution has a prestige to have produced a nursery of parliamentarian, politicians, academicians, bureaucrats and artists of great stature, who are still ruling the roost in the country. Above all, this institution enjoys an un parallel status of being the alma matter of as many as 4 chief ministers of Sindh viz: Pir lllahi Bux, Syed Ghous Ali Shah, Syed Aley Madad Shah and Syed Qaim All Shah, (the twicely elected and present Chief Minister of Sindh). Beside this, a lengthy list of proud products of this institution reads as: Mazhar-uI-Haq Sidique (the former and the longest serving Vice Chancellor of Sindh University, Jamshoro), Ali Dino Panhwar, Allah Dino Siyal (Ex-Chairman Wapda & Education Minister of State, Khairpur), Allah Dito Baloch (Ex~D.P.l State, Khairpur), Ghulam Asghar Vandiar (Exinspector School, West Pakistan), Hashmat Sing (All India Scout Commissioner), Pervez Ali Shah, Late Illahi Bux Khamisani, Ex Judge High Court of Sindh, Mr. Abdul Rahim Kharal, Ex-Judge High Court of Sindh, Mr. Ghulam Rasool Siddiqi, Ex-Chief Engineer Sindh, Mr. Ali Dino Panhwar, Ex-Secretary Education Department, Sindh, Mr. Manzoor Hussain Panhwar, Ex-IG Prisons, Sindh, Mr. Manzoor Hussain Wassan, Provincial Minister, Sindh, Mr. Ali Aslam Jaffri, Retired Justice High Court of Sindh, Mr. Late Qazi Sache Dino, Ex Commissioner, Hyderabad Division, Late Ghulam Hussain Jaffri, Director of Education, Sindh, Mr. Abdul Hussain Jaffri, Project Director, Gudu Barrage, Mr. Agha Abdul Nabi, Commissioner, Hyderabad, Mr. Badruddin Zahidi, Secretary, Federal Government, Late lnamullah Memon, Chief Engineer High Ways, Mr. Ghulam Rasool Shahani Baloch, Chief Engineer, irrigation, Mr. Qamar Din Sahto, Chief Engineer, Sukkur Barrag, Mr. Ghulam Asghar Shaikh, Deputy Inspector General of Police and several Others.
