Supreme Judicial Council Building , Khairpur

The sessions court building, Khairpur was constructed in 1918 by the then ruler of the Khairpur Mir's State, His Highness Mir Imam Bux Talpur (1909-1921).

The building was constructed at a cost of Rs. 57,829 and was named as the Supreme Judicial Council. At present the building is used as office of the district and sessions court, Khairpur. It may be recalled that in April 2004 an attempt was made to demolish this historical building and construct judicial complex at its site. However, Syeda Nafisa Shah, then Zila Nazima of Khairpur resisted against the move tooth and nail and succeeded in saving this valuable heritage site. During her. time she also convened a seminar on Khairpur's Heritage and sought government's attention and necessary funds for the rehabilitation of dilapidated heritage of Khairpur.
