The mausoleum of Haibat Shaheed situated about 2 kms off in the south of Tangwani is much visited spot of pilgrimage for the local inhabitants. The historical significance of this mausoleum, surrounded by about a 48 acre graveyard, covered with Khabbarr and Kundi tree, is that the grave of a horse of John Jacob (the founding superintendent of Eastern Sindh Frontier and present town of Jacobabad), also exits besides this mausoleum.
Though nothing more is known about the history or the life account of Haibat Shaheed, but is can be said with certainty that he was the saint or the influential religious figure of that time.
His saintly prowess influenced John Jacob to the extent that he also established a well in the premises of the mausoleum to facilitate the pilgrims. Though the traces of the historic well still exist in the area, but it is no more in use.
The annual mela of Haibat Shaheed is observed in the Hijri month of Zilhaj. The local residents associate illogical stories and anecdotes with Haibat Shaheed, which need to be verified before being printed. Haibat Shaheed was Dahani by caste.
