Very few people know about a couple of centuries old mosque right on the bank of river Indus in Deh Makhan Belo, Kashmore Taluka, which is a remarkable architectural contribution in the remotest part of this area. "Chitee" or "Chito", are the Sindhi words meaning clear or white. Perhaps the name suggested to the mosque was because of its white colour. The village where it is located is itself called as "Goth Chitee Maseet". The story of the construction of this mosque is very strange. It was built by Noor Muhammad Faqeer Chachar, who was infamous because of his cattle lifting activities the area. One day he decided to abandon his anti-social activities. In order to celebrate his new life, he further decided to build a mosque on the bank of river Indus. The mosque was built in 1235 Hijri. Quranic and some poetic verses in Persian are inscribed on its interior walls. A Persian verse containing the name of its masons red as:

"Haveendah Naimatullah muamar beh lutuf Khuda wande Perwerdegar, Brather Asmatullah dilband o Abdul ghani Hast Ferzand."

Its domes or the interior walls have developed cracks, local people associate lot of stories and anecdotes with this historical mosque. Time and again it has been ravaged by floods and specially during the infamous super floods of 1960s, 70, and 90s, the mosque remained marooned for several months but none of them could cause harm to its structures. During the course of time, various alternations and additions have been made in the original ancient structures. Very unfortunately, the provincial authorities are completely unaware of this ancient building. Moreover the location of this mosque is also disputed. Some of its portions come in the revenue jurisdiction of Punjab province. The issue can at government can claim its possession.
