Torri Bungalow, Kashmore

Torri Bungalow near Ghouspur is a landmark architectural monument, standing on the left bank of Unnar Wah. This irrigation rest house was built in 1911 (as mentioned on the commemorative stone affixed on the front elevation of the building). It is claimed that this 2-storied house comprising various blocks, quarters, VIP residential facility and indoor swimming pool. It is claimed that the whole building with varied blocks was built in the estimated cost of Rs. 34,00/-. The building comprises SDO Office and his residence, quarters of subordinating staff and a phone office.

Most of the parts of the wooden stairs of the main block of bungalow has been badly destroyed by the termite (ofcourse due to sheer official negligence).

The old library containing valuable record of English books of all testes is unfortunately no more. The caretaker of the house claims that the major portion of the record of the books of the library were stolen or illegally taken away by the one time deputy commissioners and other high officials of District Jacobabad (specially during post-partition times). The library was meant to facilitate the residents of the bungalow, who had to stay here for several weeks due to meagre transport facilities.
