Khandoo Tomb and Site, Kambar


The Khandoo site consists of one tomb and an archaeological site (hereafter called as Khandoo tomb and Khandoo site). The archaeological site is disturbed due to salinity/salt affect. The cultural material is scattered on the surface and there are some recent graves present in the surroundings of the tomb. Few potsherds and a terracotta figurine were found from the surface of the site.

Khandoo Tomb:

Khandoo tomb is square in shape its exterior dimensions are15'-4.0'' x 15'-4.0'' and interior 12'-0” x 12'-0”, the wall thickness is 1'-1.0”. The total covered area of the structure is 258.67 sq.ft (24.030 sq.m). It is constructed with burnt bricks. There is no historic detail available regarding Khandoo tomb but due to its resemblance with Kalhora period architecture it is bracketed within Kalhora era.

Surveyed by CDC-EFT - April 20th, 2018. 11.23 kms north-west of Warah, near Khandoo village UC Gaibi Dero Taluka Qamber and district Qamber-Shahdadkot. PERIOD: Kalhora Period tomb (18th century AD) and site is unidentified.
