Dhandheehar-Jo-Daro, Kambar

The archaeological site of Dhandheehar-jo-Daro is a large undulating mound. Its measurements are 367 meters in length, 242 meters in width and its highest elevation is 147' from sea level. The local people mentioned the site to have been once a very rich site, but its present condition does not portray any such evidence, some pottery and shell evidence is now found on the site. It is yet unidentifiable, as the cultural material has been damaged due to presence of heavy salts on the site and during floods of 2010, but Bukhari (2008) presumes it to be pre-Islamic.

Some parts of the mound have been destroyed and trenches dug out. Some traces of structural evidences of burnt bricks wall are present on the mound. The cultural material on the surface included: Plain and painted grey pottery, terracotta bangle, sand stone, grinder stone, pieces of glass, large number of shells, shell bangles and copper pieces. Surveyed by CDC-EFT - April 19th, 2018. The Archaeological site of Dhandeehar-jo-Daro is located about 10.7 Kms south-west of Buthi Lashkar khan in Taluka Qambar, District Qambar-Shahdadkot.
