It looks like an ordinary village, sleepy, lazy and dusty. Only it's not. The small hamlet of Kot Jangoo Khan Khoso in Taluka Thul, has something extraordinary to its credit, which compelled Henery Cousens like historian of colonial era to incorporate the name of town and point out this huge monument in his famous book The Antiquities of Sind.

More than a century old grand mosque in village Kot Jangoo in taluka Thul, sharing stark resemblance with Badshahi mosque of Lahore, was built by the local zamindar Haji Noor Khan son of Jangoo khan Khoso. It was hitherto un noticed and un attended towering architectural monument of district Jacobabad which survived last year's devastating floods. The fragile structures remained marooned in the flood waters for more than two months causing immense damage to its foundation as well as the structure.

Situated about 25 kms north-west of Thul town and about 2 kms off in the north east of Shahi canal, Jangoo Khan Mosque is surrounded by Khosos' family graveyard and it is almost attached with the main Haveli which is again surrounded by a towering wall made up of red bricks. The three domed -mosque (each dome has four ventilators) is about 39.30 metre long, 23.30 metre wide and 15 metre high. It is rectangular in shape and is made up of red bricks with locally prepared mortar (Cheeroli) used in the construction as well as the lime plaster. It has nine small minarets while in between the minarets lies decorated crowns. The mosque has three entrances: the main gate, which opens in the east is highly decorated with towering wooden gate, while one each at north and the south sides. The mosque has under gone repair works on number of times without adopting preservation methodology. The narrow and circular stairway provide a refuge to the wild pigeons and the steps are littered with nests, eggs and chicks.
