Nanik Wara Temple, Jacobabad


Nanik Wara Temple in the narrow lanes of grand historical bazaar, is one of the oldest Hindu worship places of the town. This is adjoining to cotton and trunk bazaars. This was ransacked in 1986 by some fanatics in reaction to the Babri Mosque rioting in India. In Kandh Kot town there is also Nanak Wara Temple in Nanak Wara locality. The worshipers compulsorily pay visit to this temple and recite of Granth Sohib. On the occasion of Dewali, Veskhi & Janamashtmi, big gatherings of Hindu community take place here. Following the ransacking the old structures were demolished and it was completely redesigned and reconstructed. The annual fare of this temple is celebrated in February every year. Nebhandas is its shevadari.
