The tomb of Syed Khairuddin Shah alias Syed Ahmed Shah is situated in old Sukkur. He is also popular as Jeay Shah Jeelani, who was a fifth generation descendant of Pir Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jeellani (RA) of the family of Peeran Pir. He was born in 1492 AD and spent his youth in the pursuit of religious knowledge in Baghdad.
He lived for some time in Bulri Shah in (presently in Tando Muhammad Khan district), but finally settled in Sukkur where he remained until his demise in 1617 AD.
He became the founder of a spiritual dynasty; one of his successors, Mian Ghulam Muhammad, built his mausoleum in 1670 AD. The entire surrounding of the shrine is inhabited by the descendants of Hazrat Khairuddin Shah. The mausoleum is surrounded by the locality of Pirzada community which the custodian or Gadi Nashin of the shrine.
