Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali House, Jacobabad


Jacobabad is a hometown of many prominent political figures of pre and post partition era. These political figures mostly belonging to different remote areas of neighbouring province of Balochistan, opted to make the town as their abode to look after the family estate in the district and its linkage with rest of the country through rail, road and airways. The house of Mir Jaffer Khan Jamali (uncle of Ex-Prime Minister, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali) on main Quetta Road and the residence of Nawab Muhammad Akbar Khan Bugti (former Chief Minister of Balochistan) just opposite to it, are some of the worth mentioning resting places of some prominent politicians of Balochistan, in the town.

Nawab Muhammad Akbar Bugti's House has been completely destroyed due to the negligence of its owners and is closed. During military operation launched in the Bugti area in 2006, the house was sealed by the military authorities. After the assassination of Nawab Bugti, the house has never been opened up nor ever visited by any family member. Nawab Bugti and cordial relationship with several Zamindars & politicians of Jacobabad. While Jamali House is very much in use of Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, who spend some time here during his off and on visits to the area. Before the partition of joint India, was considered to be one of the favorite amusement parks of the town called Shevala Mai Baagh. However, the garden was soon deserted and the area was somehow purchased by Jamalis and was converted into Jamali House.
