Over a century old, domeless mosque in village Khairo Waghoo (Deh Qaisarabad, UC Ahmedpur 10), and about 20 kms off Jacobabad in the east via village Ahmedpur, is a much neglected architectural monument, standing in the remote country side of the district and had braved lot of natural as well man made calamities. Worst of all being August 2010 floods. The mosque remained under water for more than a couple of months. Its facade is decorated with multi-colored tiles with a pair of about 40-feet high minarets on its both sides.
The prayer hall is well equipped with internal wind catching system with four ducts in its thick walls and two windows on its left and right sides. The ducts have been badly clogged by the nesting birds posing threat to the structures during the rainy seasons. Due to uncontrolled erosion, the tiles on the front elevation have started shading, the lime plaster on the minarets and other areas was either missing or in an extremely poor condition.
It has a vast prayer hall measuring about 14 x 35 feet. The prayer hall is about 20-feet high with 3-feet thick walls. Its ceiling is decorated with multi-colored tiles. Even the garders and tears are also painted in the same design.
The devastating deluge of August 2010 badly damaged its structures. It remained marooned for several months. During the course of its renovation work, carried out by the local villagers on self help basis, the original beauty of the mosque has been by and large damaged.
The mosque was built by a local zamindar named Khair Muhammad alias Khairoo Wagho, who was an issueless. It is said that late Khair Muhammad Wagho after completing the work of this mosque proceeded to Hajj along with his spouse and never returned. The village is situated on Qaisar Shakh (water course).
