Situated on the Rahooki distributary near Detha Railway Station Madressah Madinatul Uloom, Bheedo Sharif was established in 1911, by Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Umer. Following its establishment, a team of scholars sprang up which took the responsibility of growing the budding institution. Among them Maulana Abdullah Khadri, Maulana Muhammad Alam Panhwar, Maulana Muhammad Arif, Maulana Abbas Panhwar, Maulana Muhammad Siddique and Maulana Muhammad Kamil spent their energies for the cause.
The students and the teachers of the institution also played leading role in the anti-imperialist movements, which broke out in the sub-continent on different occasions. Following the popularity of the institution, where legendary teachers like Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Qasmi, Abdul Haq Rabbani, Mufti Rasheed Ahmed, Essa Zaur, Anwar Shah Hazarvi and Maulana Muhammad Noor Essa Khelvi worked as Khateebs. They attracted a large number of foreign students belonging to different countries, such as Iran, Afghanistan, Central Asia and other countries.
In Bombay there also exists a branch of Madressah Madinatul Uloom, which was established by Maulana Wali Muhammad Rahimoo. According to Maulana Abdul Khaliq Panhwar, the principal of Madressah, as many as 50 Madressahs with same nomenclature are functioning throughout India, which are all runned by the former students of this institution. The Madresah has a rich library and precious archival record of 56,000 manuscripts.
