The brick building, known as Satcharni, is situated to time north of the tomb of Isa Khan I Tarkhan. It is a building of a unique plan. Pir Hussamuddin Rashidi identifies it with Ranak Khusro. Khusro Khan Charkas came into prominence in the time of the Tarkhans (A.D. 1554 1612) but after the Mughal conquest of Thatta in the time of Mirza Jani Beg, his power increased considerably. However, it was only during the governorship of Mirza Ghazi Beg, particularly between 1001/1592 to 1017/1608, that Khusro Khan reached the height of his power. During the absence of Ghazi Beg in Qandhar he was practically all in all in Thatta. The present building is attributed to him. Satcharni is actually square in plan with chamfered corners. With this cutting away of the corners, the building appears octagonal in shape. Each of the major sides measures 47-ft. 6-in. in length and chamfered corners are 11-ft. 9-in. The building stands on a high plinth, faced with rectangular cut stones. There are four main arched entrances, one each on the four directions.
