The isolated limestone hillock, locally known as Jabal e Ali in the countryside of Rohri taluka, deep into the mountainous range, provide a picturesque beauty. It stands at the height of aoout 500 feet above the ground level. Some natural fissures in the rock, have generated unwise stories and hearsays. One such local account regarding the mysterious shape of the hillock suggest that it was a one time home to a beast, who made the lives of local people miserable. One day their prayers were accepted and Hazrat Ali (AS) landed in the area and attacked the rock with his sword. The rock was bisected and the beast living inside was eventually killed.
Presently, the hillock is famous to many other names too besides 'Jabal e Ali'. The area has taken a shape of a popular picnic point of Sukkur and Rohri residents. Although there is no proper stairs to scale the summit of the hill but the people specially youngsters have carved out a treacherous and risky path with in the fissures and cavities and easily move up and down without any fear. To make it even more worth visiting point the locals have developed a tomb on its top to generate revenue.
