Hazrat Loung Faqir Takia, Sukkur

The Takia (mediation point) of Great sufficient Hazrat Loung Faqir (whose shirine is situated in taluka Khairpur Mrs, near Shadi Shaheed) is situated near to the ancient rock cave temple of Kalka Mata, deep into the Rohri hills.

Hazrat Loung Faqir Mahesar (1201-1279), belonged to Qadria school of thought and was the contemporary of great Sindhi Sufi poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. He lived and died in his native village near Khairpur Mirs town. His mausoleum in the suburbs of Khairpur town is the centre of religio- spiritual activity where the disciples converge in large number and pay respect to their mentor.

The takia complex comprises an ancient mosque, a tajar (or the vaulted chamber) and the shrine of Hazrat Muhammad Arif Bhatti, the Chief Khalifa of Hazrat Loung Faqir. Hazrat Muhammad Arif was born in the year 1218 A.H. and died in 1333 A.H. at the age of 115 years.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Takias or the Lorrna's of Hazrat Loung Faqir spread all across the province. Besides the one at Arore, others are situated in Tharoo Shah (district Naushahro Feroze), Jacobabad and Khairpur Mirs.

A madressah is also being run in the vicinity of dargah which is supported by the dargah administration.
