The Makhdoom Nouh Ji Kuni is named after the historical Mosque known as Makhdoom Nouh Ji Kuni situated on the site.
It is a very large site, measuring 233 meters in length, 184meters inbreath andabout 6 feet high from the surrounding cultivated area. The Kuni mound is presently in two parts, eastern and western. The western part of the site is encroached by recent graveyard, whereas the eastern part is disturbed for the regular visits and annual urs at Makhdoom Noah by the local people looking after the mosque.
The cultural materials is scattered over the moundwhich clearly belongs to the Islamic period,it includes: plain and painted pottery, pieces of water pot with large neck and handle, glazed pottery, terracotta grinder for separating husk, terracotta animal figurine, pieces of terracotta toy boat, terracotta humble bubble, terracotta wheels, iron pieces, copper coins and yellow carvedstone grinder. Painting in black in various designs, with painting on the rim of the potsis commonly found in the sites of Islamic period.There are two structures situated in the eastern (surface) part of the site, one is an old mosque and other is a recent store room.
Mosque: The mosque is erected on a rectangular high platform, about 3 ft. high from the surface. It is constructed with burnt brick and cement plaster; it has 5 steps at the entrance.The mosque is constructed with burnt bricks (9" x 9" x 2") and mud is used as mortar.The roof is made of wood supported by carved wooden beamsand columns.
