Carelessness, commercialization, ill planning, and calamities have collectively played havoc with the beautiful architecture of by gone era, adversely tarnishing the beauty of the town. A large number of old buildings owned by the public or the private people, cease to hold ground or those which braving the vagaries managed to survive are also in precarious condition. The ill planed alterations and encroachments made in and around them have seriously damaged the historic outlook of the town.

The old Police Station of the town no more exists and a girl's school has been built in its premises. A marvellously designed Tapedars's Dera in Channa Mohalla has again been unauthorizedly encroached and its front elevation has been badly affected due to growing and uncontrolled encroachment. Unfortunately the single room building is being used as a garbage depot of the mohalla.

Similarly the old High school of the town is no more in use because of its depleting condition. The school was built by the state administration way back early 19405. The 5-roomed school was upgraded in 1967 and its status was raised to a Higher Secondary School.
