Pir Hajnan Shah, Khairpur

Dargah of Pir Hajnan Shah is situated in village Wada Machee. Syed Hajnan Shah, reportedly came to Sindh from Baghdad (the fact needs authentication because this is the claim of Mutawalee of this Dargah, which again based on the hearsay), in 950 Hijri, and found this area his last abode perhaps because of the reasons that during the old times this area was quite prosperous because of river lndus, which was then passing through this area. He died around the year 997 Hijri. The compound of the Dargah is as extensive as 41 acres of land which was granted by the then Talpur ruler of the state. Now that piece of land has turned out to be the bone of contention among some locals and they are suing each other in courts. The annual Urs of the Dargah is rendered disrupted due to on going tribal feud in the area. As we entered into the dark Dargah, an innocent female voice welcomed us, who was staying on the cold floor, well glued with the grill of the chamber of grave of Hajnan Shah, praying in Sindhi and repeatedly saying as below:

"Oh Munhen ja Wasee/a, Muhen jee bachan taan museebat maaf ker..."
