Tapedars Dera, Khairpur

Tapedars Dera (a place where all the Tapedars of Taluka converge), a very old building just adjacent to Mukhtiarkar's office in Khairpur is in deplorable condition and is rapidly decaying in the wake of continued neglect on the part of concerned agencies to monitor its health. At least two fire extinguishers inscribing as "Bengal Chemical Pharmaceutical Work Ltd, Calcutta", installed on the walis of "Dera" have almost been rendered rotten. Fire extinguishers of the same shape and make are installed in the Faiz Mahal, Khairpur but they are in healthy condition. A room of the Dera has been completely destroyed due to rains and other calamities while the rest of the portions were destroyed during 27/12 rioting.

Besides the Dera, there exists a very small mosque which is the important feature of defunct Khairpur state's town planning. Due to the construction of District Accounts office in its front its main and beautiful elevation has been by and large undermined.
