Hazrat Makhdoom Shah Usman Qureshi, son of Hazrat Muhammad Siddiq Makki, was born on 25th Rabiul Awwal, 590 AH. His father Muhammad Siddiq Makki traveled to Sindh from Makka and sought refuge outside Bakhar Fort in a village of Jatoi tribe. The Jatois arranged his marriage and became the father of two sons viz; Shaikh Hassan and Makhdoom Shah Usman.
Makhdoom Shah Usman was hardly in his tender age when ne traveled to Multan and became the direct disciple of Hazrat Shaikh Bahauddin Zakaria Multani. He learnt the knowledge of various disciplines from his mentor such as Tafseer, Hadees, Fiqah, Tasawwuf etc. He remained in the companionship of his Murshid for more than eight years and upon his instructions he shifted back to his native town to spread the message of Suharwardi school of thought.
Upon his return from Multan, he came into contact with various spiritual giants like Hazrat Makhdoom Sadruddin Arif and Hazrat Makhdoom Ruknuddin Abul Fateh. Initially, he came back to the village of Bagarji (known after its influential man called Bagar Khan Jatoi) and after staying there for sometime he shifted to nearby village of Farasn. He died in 663 AH at the age of 73.
The dargah of Hazrat Shah Usman in Farash village is being looked after by the Pirzada clan, who are the progeny of Hazrat Shah Usman.
