A cluster of old buildings in the old Sukkur area, paint a picture which is pretty different from the rest of Sukkur's pre-partition architectural relics that can hold your attention and make you appreciate the magnificent masonry & art.

Unfortunately, most of those have either been knocked down, altered or are under the process of demolition & destruction. Builder-mafia & commercial mind-set as in the case of most historical cities of Pakistan, is very much active in the area of old sukkot too.

They provide their services for demolition and reconstruction of old buildings and its service charges only debris of demolished building, in reality the so-called debris is actually worth many times more the low-cost new construction. The valuable debris taken out of the destroyed havelis, mansions, villas and palaces, mostly built during the colonial times, has a favourable market in big urban centres like Karachi, Lahore , Islamabad and abroad.

Growing commercialization and mass migration of the communities towards the main urban centres have by and large played their role towards fast vanishing of the old architectural monuments.
