Lucas Park, Sukkur

Situated on the main Masoom Shah Minaret Road, this park is named after a renowned civil servant of colonial times Mr. W.H. Lucas, who also remained as Commissioner in Sindh, during 1014-15. This public park was established in 1919. During the military regime of General Ziaul Haq, park's nomenclature was changed and was renamed as Muhammad Bin Qasim Park. During its heydays the park was covered with dense peepal trees, providing shelter to the visitors as well as the homeless, during the peak summer days. The vegaries of the time have adversely affected its beauty as well as the charm. Even then it stands as the only entertainment source for the citizens.
