Situated in front of District Jail Sukkur, on Shalimar Road, Hasht Pehloo (Octagonal building) building was constructed by Mir Masoom Shah as a resting place for passengers. Including a dome, it is a 40 feet high building.
Architecturally, its rooms are designed to accommodate many travelers with their families separately. It is said that there were seven wells around the building and the area was full of dates and mango trees. During the British period, it was being used as a Sindhi school and then converted into a kerosene go-down. In the period of emperor Jahangir 1609 A.D., Joseph Salambainki during his journey from Agra to Kandhar, stayed in this building for 24 days. Presently, a private school is operating in this building.
