Old Anglo Vernacular School, Tharoo Shah, Naushero

A rare view of a magnificent hostel block (built in 1924) of Anglo Vernacular School, Tharoo Shah. It is said following the departure of Hindu teachers during partition times, the school went short of funds to cater the needs of boarders consequently it was closed for sometime threatening the very academic activity of this institution.

Raees Ghulam Rasool Khan Jatoi, then Chairman, District Council, Nawabshah, rushed to the spot and provided grain and other stuff required for running the kitchen of the hostel and announced number of scholarships and stipends for the needy students in order to make the school functional.

Old Anglo Vernacular School, Tharoo Shah, which was built in 1905, can be ranked as on of the oldest identical institution of the region. Most of its portion have been demolished and rest await to meet the same fate in the wake of so-called modernization and public apathy.

An old auditorium of the school, which is now being used as the make-shift class room of the school. Old water tank in the school premises facilitating students and the teachers with cold water. Old mosque in the premises of the school. This is as old as the school itself.
