Seth Hiranand Tahkandas Cloth Market in March Bazar which had been one time the biggest center of trade activity, which was obviously built by Seth Hiranand Tahkandas Cloth Market in 1940 (as mentioned on the memorable plaque atop the main entrance of the building). It is a T-shaped building, housing a large number of shops on the ground floor and some residential suites on its first floor. Its high roof is covered with steel sheet. Due to poor maintenance and the administrative negligence, the outlook of this historical market has been tarnished. It is pertinent to mention here that with the establishment of this huge market of its kind, catering to the needs of upper Sindh, it gave boost to the financial activity and thus a cluster of commercial banks sprang up in the vicinity, during the course of time.
