It is located on 242.22 Latitude and 86s .16 longitudes, situated in Jati taluka, east of Thatta. It is believed that this magnificent fort was built by Raja Nand Gujar Rajput, in about twelve centuries ago. It was from the earliest times, on the border of Cutch; subsequently was a communication route between Sindh and Cutch. This route was canalized for exported and imported materials and also for the communication of people of both countries. Its climate was moderate; as a result many people would come here for relaxation from the scorching heat of sun. The Raja Dahir of Sindh
would come here regularly in the season of summer. The ruins of the palace of Raja Dahir near the Nand kote are visible. At the time of invasion of Arabs, Raja Dahir was killed fighting with Arab forces on 10th Ramzan in 93 A.H, at the time of sunset, near the fort of Rawar. It is said that Mohammad Bin Qasim had built a guard- camp there.
When Ghulam Shah Kalhoro invaded on Jareja Raja of Cutch, his army marched through the barren land of this route. In the reign of Talpur dynasty, being a part of Sindh, it had commercial and defensive importance. In the period of Talpur, government officers (especially tax collectors) of Taipurs lived in Rerhi and Shah Kapur.

Baked bricks have been used, being in size one and a quarter feet. The eastern side wall of the Kote is nearly 512 feet long, in which signs of rooms are noticeable facing every tower. Every room has a size being 6x8 feet. Some signs of a building are noticable along the tower. A door is discernible in the centre of the seven and eight tower, which is mainly smashed to ground.
On southern side of Kote, there are also signs of old fiord (Dhoro). It is said that those signs are Khark Dhoro of River Indus. This fort is completely built of baked bricks. The coins are found by people in the rainy season, which have no inscription or they are completely traumatized. At this time, along the Kote is situated a village of Jafar Thahim, which has population nearly one thousand souls. There is a primary school in village.
