Rama Pir, Tando Allahyar





The temple of Rama Pir is one of the largest pilgrimage sites for the schedule caste people in Sindh; situated in the heart of Tando Allahyar city. That pilgrimage centre attracts thousands of their devotees to their saviour deity. In the mela while carrying "Dajja" (flags) in their hands, they recite "Bhajan" whole night sitting outside the city and early in the morning at 5:00 AM they hoist "Dajja" at the temple by dancing on the beat of drums and trumpets. Thousands of devotees including women, children travel on foot to pay homage to Rama Pir. They bring flags back, which were hoisted at the temple.
