Makhdoom Arabi Dhayano, Matiari





Makhdoom Arabi Dhayano (died in 980 Hijri). He was the brother of greatest religious scholar of the time, named Hazrat Pir Asaat, who is buried in Makli Graveyard, Thatta. Makhdoom Arabi was known by his style of worship. It is said that he completed 140 readings of the Holy Quran in a single and a very brief sitting.

He was the teacher of number of scholars of the time. But among all the importance of Hazrat Makhdoom Sarwar Nooh (R.A) to be his one of the respected disciples is much higher.

He died in 980 Hijri and was succeeded by his son Makhdoom Bayazid. He is buried in a very small and a recently built chamber in the graveyard of Old Hala. Others who are also buried here including Sufi Sarmast Syed Qutub Ali Shah Jeelani Qadri Qalandri.
