Over a century old Bungalow of Miskeen Shah in KhanoteTown, is a marvellous work of architecture. It used to be a double storied house, comprising over four vast rooms on its ground floor. The upper portion has been completely destroyed due to the negligence or other reasons.
Syed Miskeen Shah was an influential zamindar of the area and was famous for his public relationing. It is said his friendly contacts with colonial rulers, administrators, officers and officials tempted him to built such a luxurious living place in this remote area.
Besides brick masonrv, it is composed of wooden work Most of the precious wooden fixtures have been destroyed by the termite attack, while some of the decorative pieces like wooden cots, beds, cradles, couches and other pieces of antique valued furniture has been dumped in a nearby store.
The present owner of this fastly deteriorating "once a happy hovel:" is Syed Malook Shah, who is also the zamindar of the area. Negligence playing its part to deteriorate the old structures. At a brief distance from the town, there lies a vast old graveyard named after Syed Miskeen Shah, where he is buried.
