Minara Masjid situated in Baqial Pota Mohalla, is one of the oldest architectural monuments of the town having as many as 14 domes with one 50 feet high minaret (though massively reconstructed & redesigned) in the courtyard of the mosque.

In 1331 Hijri, the mosque was renovated, along with being expanded, by one Syed Haji Mir Awal Shah (Senior) as mentioned on its main entry point. Thereafter, his son started a religious school in it named 'MadrassaAbulkher. Amongst those who taught and preached at this madrassa, Hafiz Noor Muhammad Memon is one noteworthy name. By 1960 A.D, the madrassa remained active no more. However, lately, a school of Qur'an has been started in this mosque as well.

This is a very specious mosque. In the late 1990s famous Bollywood actress Shabbana Azmi took few shots of her film 'Emmeculate Conception' in the premises of this mosque in which late Yaqoob Zakria was shown reciting Holy Quran.
