Isa Khan I was the first ruler of the Tarkhan dynasty. He came to power in 963 A.H./ A.D. 1555 and died in 973 A.H./A.D. 1565. He is buried inside an enclosure to the east of the mazar of Abdullah Ashabi just on the edge of Makli Hill. The tomb makes a new departure in the stone carver's art of Matta and shows the great change that had taken place in this art since the overthrow of the Samma dynasty. The new trend is visibly marked on the carving. At the same time new type of grave cenotaph is seen here.
